[REKROW with WORKERS 100 PROJECT] A New Region-Based Project Launches from REKROW!

Launched in 2020 in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, “REKROW” is an initiative aimed at developing a sustainable, region-based circular economy for the future. The project focuses on the entire process of workwear, from production and use to disposal, with the goal of achieving sustainability within the textile industry.

In 2025, REKROW will launch its new project, the “REKROW with WORKERS 100 PROJECT.”

Through our “ONOMICHI DENIM PROJECT,” we have met many people who work in the region, where denim is still worn and used, allowing us to observe the real, worn-in denim. We have seen the people who create these products through their workwear, which is also deeply rooted in the history of denim.

Being located in this denim-producing region, we understand how a single pair of jeans is made. This connection allows us to deeply appreciate the dedication and feelings that makers put into each product they create. We resonate with their desire for people to cherish and use their items for a long time. Across the country, there are many industries focused on manufacturing, and we want to convey the charm of both craftsmanship and the people who work in these fields. Based on this sentiment, we are launching the “REKROW with WORKERS 100 PROJECT” as a new initiative that can only be made possible in a region-based project.

We believe that by sharing information about workwear, we can communicate the charm of these businesses and industries. By repurposing workwear that has reached the end of its life, we hope to create a new cycle. Through this project, we want to explore how a piece of workwear can reflect the changes in a person’s feelings and experiences over the course of a year. We invite you to experience the emotional transformation of individuals as they wear their workwear during the project.
